Native American art
P6 students will be studying native American art this term and artist of the week is given to Mengxing Zhao of P6D for her lovely collage of all different types of totem poles. Well done Mengxing.

2012 Art evening
The 2012 Art evening was attended by many proud parents of students from > the secondary school at Canterbury. Much of the work was on display and the upper school work was also presented. Thanks to all who attended to make this a very special evening.
S4 art students have recently completed their 8 hour IGCSE exam with some excellent results. All work will be shown at the art evening on Thursday May 3rd. Here are just some examples.

Poster competition

Jorge Rodriguez of P6A is the proud winner of the competition to design a poster to advertise the Art Evening at Canterbury school on Thursday May 3rd.
Art Club

The Art Club have done some wonderful work with clay. Well done to all the children in the club. Keep up the good work!!

On Wednesday 28th March, we held our first Easter egg competition. We were amazed by the smashing creations designed by our pupils using just eggs, a cardboard box and arty stuff!

The last artist of the week for this second term is Blanca Conde Dominguez of P6C for her excellent art work based on shoes. Well done Blanca.
This year we will be holding our very first Easter egg competition. The idea is that the children make something very creative at home using eggs, a cardboard box and arty stuff!. In past years, children have made characters and animals from the eggs and presented them in a painted cardboard box giving the egg a setting or a scene.
Artist of the week is Marta Santos Garcia of S1C for her excellent artist study of Gaudi.

Artist of the week has been awarded to Guillermo Rodriguez Santana from S1C for his lovely artist study on Hundertwasser. Well done Guillermo.

P6 students worked hard in term 1 learning all about Aboriginal art and color. They produced their very own papier mache boomerang and tested them out in the school playground. Many found the boomerangs came back to them with a little help from the wind. Well done to all of P6 art students who completed their boomerangs.
Artist of the week has been awarded to Lara Estupiñan of S2D for her lovely colorful animal papier mache mask.

S2 students have been making papier mache animal masks in art lessons and a few of the photos here show some of the excellent variety they have achieved.
P6 students have been working very hard to improve their art skills and artist of the week has been awarded to Miguel Limeres of P6A for his title page, well done Miguel.
A tough choice for artist of the week this week as all year groups are working very hard. However, Álvaro Fieira Wachtendorff S1C was chosen for his lovely title page. Álvaro is a very keen artist and since joining the school in P6 he has won a prize in the mural competition, has produced excellent work, including a spectacular self portrait and now is artist of the week. Keep up the good work Álvaro and of course the drawing.
