
On Wednesday 28th March, we held our first Easter egg competition. We were amazed by the smashing creations designed by our pupils using just eggs, a cardboard box and arty stuff!
This year we will be holding our very first Easter egg competition. The idea is that the children make something very creative at home using eggs, a cardboard box and arty stuff!. In past years, children have made characters and animals from the eggs and presented them in a painted cardboard box giving the egg a setting or a scene.
Moving Pictures
In D&T we have started a new topic called Moving Pictures. We have been talking about the parts of a picture that could move to add interest and make the picture more animated. Out first practical task involved using split pins to make a see-saw move up and down. Then we added our own decorations to make the background look like a park. The results were great
For the last two weeks, we have been learning lots of new descriptive vocabulary. In particular, we have been using adjectives to describe the size, color, texture and personality of a variety of monsters. On Thursday, we painted giant hairy spiders and then thought of good adjectives to give them each a gruesome descriptive name!
