Pupils who finished S4 last June and have moved to another school, can now collect their certificates of “Título de Graduado en Educación Secundaria” and the IGCSEs from the main office. The certificates will only be handed out to the pupils or their parents.

Nos complace informarles de las actividades extraescolares que comenzarán a partir del día 3 de octubre en los departementos de San Lorenzo (primaria) y Ruben Dario (infantil):

Dear parents,

If you wish to use the school lunch service, this is charged monthly. If you are not using it but you want to do so, please notify the office in writing.  If you are using it but would like to cancel it, you must also notify the office in writing before 25^th of each month or working day before holidays. If you have used the school lunch service during the month of September, this will be charged together with October.

Dear parents, 

We would like to inform you that swimming lessons will begin next day: TUESDAY 20^TH  SEPTEMBER

Please ensure your child brings a towel, swimsuit and arm bands .The days for k2 and k3 are: TUESDAYS. 

On Saturday, 1st October, Saturday School, an English course lasting 29 weeks, will begin. (please see calendar Saturday School).

In the morning

Please do not park on the right hand side (going down the hill) of the road.  Anyone wishing to park and there is no space on the left hand side, should park in the bottom playground of the secondary department.  THIS WILL BE OPEN FOR PARKING FROM 7.45 to 9.15 EVERY MORNING.   

Please do not turn the car round on the road. Drive through the bottom entrance, up the slip road and out through the middle entrance.

Pupils who finished S6 last June can now collect their certificates of “Título de Bachiller”. Those pupils who have done “Selectividad”, must sent a certified copy to UNED in Madrid as soon as possible, so the “Tarjeta de Selectividad” is valid. A photocopy of the “Título de Bachiller” can be certify at the UNED in Las Palmas free of charge. 

For those pupils who took C.I.E. IGCSE, AS or A level examinations this year, please read the attached factsheet recently published by Cambridge explaining the meaning of the percentage uniform mark introduced in November 2010.

Monday, 5th September at 8.30 a.m. will be the first day of the 2011 - 2012 School Year for all pupils except fo those entering K0 and K1.  For further details please see the Introductory Day.   P1 pupils, for whom this is their first year at San Lorenzo, should arrive at 9.30 a.m.  Would all parents of K0 and K1 pupils please print and complete the questionnaire and hand it in to the secretary on their Introductory Day.  If you wish your child to travel to school on the School Bus, please contact Teresita (you will find full information related to this in the Introductory Document).

We would like to remind you the office will be open from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm during Summer time. We wish you a very nice Summer.

There will be a meeting at the Infant Department. Parents and children will see the school premises, meet the teachers and hand in the Family Information from which you can download from the school web.  Please be punctual.

School Uniform

SPORTS UNIFORM

K0, K1 and K2

May attend school wearing sports uniform all year round if parents so wish. These children will also need to bring a plastic apron of some kind for the dining room and handwork lessons.

Uniforms may be purchased from the Canterbury School Main Office in San Lorenzo or collected from the secretaries in Ruben Dario and Maspalomas but in all cases must be previously reserved by phone. Alternatively they can be bought at "El Corte Inglés".

Parents who wish to purchase any of these items from the school should phone 928 439810 during office hours (8.30 to 4.30) and collect their order during the following three days. Once this period has elapsed, the items need to be reordered.

Because of the heat in September and July all pupils may attend classes wearing sports uniform.

ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING SHOULD BE MARKED WITH THE FULL NAME OF YOUR CHILD IF YOU WISH THEM TO BE RETURNED WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN MISLAID. EVERY YEAR ABOUT 500 ARTICLES ARE THROWN AWAY AS THEY REMAIN UNCOLLECTED AND WE HAVE NO IDEA WHO THE OWNERS ARE.
