In the Canarian Islands minibasket championship, our girls’ team won the silver medal, beaten only in the final and by a very narrow margin: this was actually the only match they lost throughout the whole season . The boys’ team did their best and gained a well earned fourth place. We would like to congratulate both teams for their enthusiasm and hard work throughout the whole season and for the excellent way they fought during the championship. We would also like to thank parents for supporting the teams and encouraging them with their presence at every match they played. Everyone in fact, players, parents and trainers, thoroughly enjoyed the weekend spent in Tenerife: it has been an unforgettable experience.
En una memorable jornada que pasara a la historia de nuestro club, nuestros dos equipos (masculino y femenino) de la categoría minibasket se han clasificado para el Campeonato de Canarias, que se celebrará en Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Pabellón del RC Náutico) desde el 29 de mayo al 1 de junio, tras disputar el campeonato insular de Gran Canaria, resultando:

Nuestro jugador Gabriel Navarro fue galardonado con el titulo MVP masculino (Mejor Jugador) en la recientemente disputada fase final insular preinfantil, en la que nuestro equipo quedo en una brillante segunda posición. Desde aquí nuestra mas cordial enhorabuena al el ya todos sus compañeros por este gran éxito, fruto del esfuerzo y la constancia. Todo un ejemplo a seguir.
Muy igualada ha sido la Fase Final a 4 preinfantil masculino y un triple empate entre Canterbury, Heidelberg y Gran Canaria nos ha dado el 2º puesto.
Great performance by both the Boys and Girls Teams in the fourth Canterbury Minibasket Tournament in Las Palmas. The Canterbury IDECNET girls team won first place in the tournament as it obtained the highest difference in points as the The Lions, the Uni and La Salle Náutico all won the same number of matches.

se está convirtiendo en un clásico. Por aquí han pasado equipos como los Houston Hoops, el Joventut de Badalona, el Real Madrid. Esto ha ido creciendo muy rápido y por 1ª vez contamos con la presencia de 2 equipos extranjeros (de la extinguida Yugoslavia: 1 de Serbia y 1 de Slovenia).

Great game and a brilliant victory of our girls Minibasket team in a tense match and tense atmosphere. From the first quarter Canterbury showed why it is the unbeaten leader in the league, beginning with a triple from Carla Lobeto and ending with two free shots scored by Claudia Quevedo making the final score of the first quarter 15-11: the referees also gave a technical penalty against the Caja players.

Two Canterbury Lions players, Claudia Quevedo Padilla and Carla Lobeto Llorca, have been selected to form part of the Canarian Girls Minibasket team which will play in the Spanish Autonomic Regions Championship in San Fernando, Cadiz, between the 15th and 19th March. Congratulations from all team members and fans! A fantastic example for all the younger players to follow!
La Federación Canaria de Baloncesto ha publicado la lista definitiva con los jugadores de la Selección Canaria de Minibasket Masculino donde está el jugador de Canterbury Lions, ALBERTO MORENO.
We would like to congratulate our player who will play in the Gran Canariian Minibasket Teams; Alberto Moreno, Paula Rodríguez, Carla Lobeto y Claudia Quevedo. We would also like to congratulate Melania and Aldo for their effort and the good image they have given of Canterbury players in general as they were also chosen to take part play in the training sessions from which the final selection was made. Keep it up! There is still plenty of time for you to grow, improve and participate in other Gran Canarian Teams. You are all writing history and creating an excellent image of the high level of Canterbury Basketball in general. Congratulations! We are all very proud of you!. Great week for Canterbury School (click ACB). Both our boys and girls teams have come first in the Kalise ‘Conferencia Gran Canaria’ and will represent the island and their club on the mainland. The girls’ final took place between two long standing rivals. For the second year running Heidelburg and Canterbury found themselves competing in the last match of this section on the road to the final match of the ‘Conferencia Gran Centro’. As the girls from both teams are old rivals, they all knew how difficult this match would be and the tension was high from the very beginning. Canterbury School was looking forward to the start of the 2007/2008 ACB schools’ competition with great emotion but did not imagine that both the boys’ and the girls’ teams would have the honour of representing the Kalise Gran Canaria sectionIn the final of the Conferencia Gran Centro. On the one hand , the boys had an outstanding victory over ICE Guanateme (92-58) and in addition to this, the girls eliminated the third best team of last year, Heidelberg (38-50).

, en la que de nuevo participan los jugadores del Colegio Canterbury. Después del gran papel jugado en la edición anterior, este año ha comenzado de forma inmejorable con una gran victoria sobre el Colegio Teresianos, que nos clasifica para semifinales, a disputar el viernes 18 de enero a las 16:00 en el pabellón de la Vega de San José.
